Meet Dr. Howard Hamerink
Dr. Hamerink received his doctorate in Dentistry from The University of Michigan. His extensive background as an educator brings unmatched expertise to his patients. This includes time as an Assistant Professor at the University of Detroit Mercy Dental School before joining the faculty at The University of Michigan in 1979. He mentored students there until 1993. Dr. Hamerink then rejoined the faculty six years later, and currently serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor. He instructs in the comprehensive care clinic, focusing on impression techniques and dental implants.
Along with maintaining his private practice in Plymouth, Dr. Hamerink evaluates and tests a dental resin system, co-investigates clinical studies, coordinates the development of the department's digital image library, and is developing a Primary Prosthodontic Care model. He is on the editorial board for the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry and serves as an evaluator of dental materials for the Dental Advisor.
In his spare time, Dr. Hamerink enjoys the outdoors, camping and photography. He is an avid participant and supporter of the Kiwanis Club of Plymouth and the Boy Scouts of America.
